Please try Silversea! You may think they are out of your price range but think again. Other cruise lines add 15%seervice charge to the price of all drinks and ask for a certain amount for tips. That is understantable if the crew are not well paid, but with Silversea it is all inclusive and very good value. Presumable the crew are well paid. You see the same faces on different cruises, and they become friends.
The last cruise we took was from Dubai to Singapore last November and we are just about to book our next cruise. Both with Cruise.co.uk, because they will give you extra discount from any published fares. Well worth having.
Silversea is the ultimate in cruising. Small ships, fantastic service, open dining options - eat fantastic food when and with who you like. Some evenings we have a table for two, and sometimes we ask to join others. The cabins are spacious, the vast majority with a varanda ( if we are cruising to somewhere hot we pay the bit extra for the varanda - if it is cruising in cooler climates the Vista without the balcony should be your choice. There are lots of activities on board, the excursions are excellent and very reasonable priced (we saw so much - from the souks of Oman to the sights, smells and crowds of Bombay). Evening entertainment is great, and dont"t forget all the drinks are free! We honestly believe we are not paying much more than our friends who sail with the "Middle of the road" companies. They seem to try different cruise ships each holiday, we don"t want to look for anything else and will only book a silvsea cruise
